My name is Shouchikubai Ruki. I am a scenario writer and game creator.
I have been creating a wide range of otome games, both commercial and independent, for the past 26 years.
This year has been a truly wonderful one, thanks to the tremendous support we received throughout the crowdfunding project for The Goddess of Tears ~Restoration~ (commonly known as Megami R).
Thanks to your encouragement, development of Megami R is progressing smoothly. At this rate, we expect to release a trial version around spring next year, followed by the completion of the full game (Japanese version) in the summer.
All of us on the development team are deeply grateful each day for your heartfelt support.
Even as we remain fully engaged in this major project, we have decided to begin development on our next title, with an eye towards the future of the brand.
If we were to continue in a situation where
“no work on the next title begins until Shouchikubai Ruki has fully completed the current one,”
or where
“there is a long gap before the next release,”
it would become difficult for us to continue creating R18 otome games.
Discussions had already been taking place among the staff about developing a concept for our next title. One that other team members could move forward with while I focused on writing the scenario.
When I heard this, the very first work that came to mind was The Second Reproduction.
As many of you who follow our brand’s account on X may already know, the original version of this title, released in 2008, was misused without permission as a product listing on fraudulent websites.
Even now, though those sites are no longer visible, this remains a deeply troubling matter for me as the creator.
I felt it was important to protect the work by personally announcing a remade edition that can be played in the current environment as soon as possible, and to prevent fraudulent sites from becoming active again.
As this project follows on from Megami R, some of you may find it difficult to take part this time.
In such cases, please feel free to purchase the standard edition, which does not include supporter rewards.
As I often say, truly enjoying a game requires having the emotional and financial space to do so.
I would be very happy if, this time as well, you choose to participate only in a way that feels comfortable and enjoyable for you.
Finally, while the planned release date, 30 June 2027, is still some time away, I give you my word that, as long as I am alive, I will see this project through to completion.
